Deborah Robinson founded Bay Street HR in 2001 and has over 25 years of diverse Human Resources and Governance experience in a variety of sectors. She has extensive experience in executive compensation, corporate governance, performance measurement, and strategic consulting to CEOs and senior executives of both public and private companies and not-for-profit organizations. Deborah has an extensive network in the Canadian business community. She has worked with many of the leading boutique financial firms and built the HR foundation of many start-ups. She is hands-on in implementing practical solutions for executive teams, and she consults to boards of private companies and small cap public boards. She is a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds the institute´s ICD.D designation.
Deborah has a deep range of expertise in providing practical advice in compensation, performance measurement, organizational development, employee relations, and talent management. Her knowledge and network on both Bay Street and Wall Street give her the insight to offer relevant information and make astute recommendations that impact and benefit Bay Street HR’s clients.
Deborah currently serves on several Boards.
Deborah spends as much of her summers as possible in her hometown, Cape Cod, where she is famous for throwing beach parties and lobster bakes.
Maha Masood joined Bay Street HR in 2013. As a Human Resources Manager, Maha’s main duties include providing strategic HR consulting and day-to-day support to Bay Street HR’s clients that are in various industries, such as financial services, mining, media, and executive compensation. Maha is a lead or a core member of more than 20 client engagements. She provides her clients with high quality support in a wide range of HR activities including planning and executing the performance management process, employee engagement audit, developing policies and procedures, monitoring and ensuring legislative compliance, compensation, and talent management initiatives.
Maha has a keen interest in and passion for team dynamics. She conducts team building sessions through applying her practitioner certification in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI). Maha’s team building sessions highlight the importance of diverse teams and encourage cohesion and healthy conflicts. Her MBTI knowledge enables her to help her clients develop a deep understanding of team dynamics and their own unique preferences, communication, and interaction skills.
In addition, Maha has a strong interest and experience in Compensation. She has advised a number of management and board compensation mandates. These mandates allow her to provide support in preparing CEO scorecards that focuses on finalizing key performance metrics that sets a stage for enhanced performance; reinforces the partnership between the Board of Directors and the CEO; and aligns the company’s overall strategy.
Maha was previously at Shoppers Home Health Care based in North York, ON where she provided extensive support in recruitment, employee engagement initiatives, and training and development.
Maha holds a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree with Honours in Human Resources Management from York University. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) through the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).
Maha is passionate about engaging people to maximize their performance using a fun and positive approach. While working at Bay Street HR, Maha enjoys keeping an active lifestyle and watching her favorite basketball team play, the Toronto Raptors.
Tiffany Leung joined Bay Street HR in 2014. As a Human Resources Associate, Tiffany plays an integral role in providing consulting and day-to-day support to companies in various industries, such as financial services, biotechnology, and mining. Tiffany provides her clients with high quality consulting and administration support in a wide range of human resources activities and initiatives, which include full-cycle recruitment; employee engagement; compensation; best practices; developing training programs to increase employee retention; developing and hosting workshops on employment, labor policies, and compliance; and administering year-end performance reviews.
Prior to joining Bay Street HR, Tiffany worked at a global professional services company based in Asia and a technology firm and a not-for-profit organization based in Ontario, where she gained knowledge in human resources, accounting, and business development. She draws on these diverse experiences to provide effective and practical HR solutions to Bay Street’s clients.
Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Employment Relations and English from the University of Toronto.
When Tiffany is not busy staying on top of employment and labor laws and supporting her clients, she enjoys volunteering her time at community organizations.
Joanne Lepin joined Bay Street HR in 2016. As a Human Resources professional, she provides day-to-day support to the Bay Street HR team and to the firm’s clients. With over 10 years of diverse sales and business development experience in the financial services industry, Joanne is able to leverage her strong technical, industry, and client service expertise to provide value-added recruitment solutions to Bay Street HR’s clients.
Prior to joining Bay Street HR, Joanne worked in various financial services companies in the United States and in Canada. Joanne moved to Canada in 2011 from New York City.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from San Francisco State University.
When Joanne is not supporting Bay Street HR and its clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching documentaries, and staying active through various forms of exercises.
Carly Howard joined Bay Street HR in 2020. As a Human Resources Assistant, Carly provides the necessary HR duties and handles day-to-day administrative support to Bay Street HR and its clients. Her responsibilities include benefit administration, full-cycle recruitment, payroll processing, performance evaluation, record maintenance, and responding to various HR inquiries.
Prior to joining Bay Street HR, Carly was with Burgundy Asset Management based in Toronto, ON, where she was responsible for benefits administration, recruitment, health and safety, and updating various company policies and procedures.
Carly holds a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Georgian College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) through the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA).
Carly is passionate about employee relations and mental health initiatives. In addition to building her career in HR, Carly is a professional curler on the World Curling Tour. In her free time, Carly enjoys boating on Georgian Bay, golfing, and reading.
